2011 World Architecture Awards
Local Talent Takes Award.
Hamish Monk Architecture , an Auckland based architectural firm, has won the commercial – unbuilt category of the 2011 World Architecture News Awards with his design for a Tainui development in Waikato. Hamish Monk only formed the practice in 2009 after returning from a stint working in the UK where he was head of a design studio. The project includes a tribal parliament, administration and media centre; a sports and leisure centre; a river centre and gallery; a waka marina complete with stage and river terrace for events; and a carving school, workshop and cafe. The project is in its early stages so a final design and date for building have yet to be agreed on. I love his work and after watching the attached video of the project, I think that the Auckland Council would be wise to ask him to provide them with a concept for the Quay Street Boulevard. Well done Hamish !

Congratulations are in order, I also love it and that boulevard linking the different complexes will look great down Quay Street.
Good stuff, well done Hamish.
Awesome stuff.
