Hole In One
The Britomart Country Club.
Tucked away behind shipping containers in the heart of Britomart, lies a magical garden filled with wonderful things. The Britomart Country Club is one of our favourite places in downtown Auckland. Here we can escape the hustle and bustle of city streets, enjoy a stylish BBQ, have a drink and/or indulge in a sumptuous high tea. This is New Zealand’s largest courtyard bar and you will feel as if you are somewhere out in the countryside. We love the antique country style furnishings, the lawn, the cushioned banquettes, the private putting green, the pétanque court and the contrast created by the large steel shipping containers.
The kitchen and marble-slab bar provide patrons with gourmet pizza’s, high tea and iced tea cocktails. During weekends there is a special chef’s barbecue and there are two giant screens that broadcast live sport’s games and old movies. Some of Auckland’s best bands and DJ’s entertain patrons with live performances. Located right next door to 1885 Britomart on Galway Street, The Britomart Country Club has definitely scored a hole-in-one. We highly recommend it and look forward to enjoying live screenings of the Rugby World Cup 2011 in style.

I have had some incredible Friday nights here and it is great. I would like to try the BBQ some time
Fantastic photographs
Thanks
Wonderful ! We need places like this on Waiheke Island
Thanks for the info, I need to check it out.
You are most welcome
Such a clever concept. What’s really great about this is the fact that this used to be a car park as well which is now gone
Haven’t tried the BBQ but my wife has tried the high tea and she really enjoyed it. Not badly priced either.
Looks like a great spot, I need to go and see for myself. Thanks for the info
My pleasure
Nice one, it looks expensive ?
Not badly priced at all – good value for money
Friends of mine have been and they had a great time. Prices are apparently very reasonable, good for people like me
Are those photographs your own handy work ? Looks like a nice little place to spend an hour or three
Guilty
I took these photographs two days after the opening.
I have been here a couple of times and really enjoyed myself. It is quite a surprise when you look at it from the outside and then go in, a different world altogether. Good stuff.
Good place for a business lunch, it is very relaxed and people are generally off their guard
I note, with some chagrin, the healthy living or else crowd led by the paternalist vanguard ASH, complaining about this venue’s lack of adherence to anti-smoking legislation. Heaven forbid an adult should be left to make a decision for him or herself!

Bloody ridiculous, let’s hope that the patrons and owners show them the finger. You are quite right, adults should be able to make a decision for themselves
It is ridiculous, thanks for the link.
It is pathetic really, we are old enough to make our own decisions.
After reading your blog I went and checked it out, I enjoyed it very, very much and it is highly recommended. Thanks.
