Business Class
Novotel Auckland Airport Hotel all set for take-off.
27 May 2011 marks the birthday of the new Novotel Auckland Airport Hotel and the day that Auckland Airport matures into a truly International hub. The 13 storey glass clad hotel was designed by Warren & Mahoney Architects for the Tainui Group. Stakeholders include Auckland Airport and the world’s largest hotel chain – Accor. Triangles are a strong design feature and reflect the use of traditional art – from the triangular columns, the landscaping, the ceilings and the wall panels. The wool carpets are manufactured in New Zealand by Feltex and most of the interior reflects New Zealand flora (toitoi) and materials (beech from Southland).
A living wall welcomes guests to the hotel lobby and 15 mature pohutukawa trees form a fully grown garden at the entrance of the hotel. The good news is that 100 staff are employed at the hotel and that number could grow to 150 staff. The hotel can accommodate approximately 600 guests in the 263 rooms and the lobby features a restaurant and bar called The Square which can seat 152 people. There are also nine boardrooms and a banqueting suite for 200 people. We look forward to exploring the hotel in the not-so-distant future and we can’t wait to check-in for a night of Business Class indulgence.

Not long and I will be able to check this out for myself. It makes the world of difference to have an hotel right at the terminal, about time too
Love it and I also like the fact that they have used Pacifica references but it isn’t too obvious.
I like the simplicity of it all, the vertical lines and the transparency of the building. It has a very Scandinavian feel to it. Stylish
Good observation there, it does look very Scandinavian
Good observation, I thought exactly the same thing
All we need now is the train to the airport and we will be smiling
+1
Couldn’t agree more
Wouldn’t that be the icing on the cake
Auckland Airport will definitely be World Class.
Would be nice if we got rail and a Hilton or Hyatt as well
Today is the big day, I wish them every bit of success and I think that it looks really nice.
Are you able to get interior shots ?
I intend to, stay tuned
Thank God for this, let’s face it the choice of accommodation in the area is rather dire and this is a way better option for me. It’s great news.
